01 / UNDERSTAND THE LIGHT

THE LIGHT IS A SIGNAL.
UNDERSTAND THE CAUSE.

The CEL, SES, or MIL is your vehicle’s warning that the engine-management system has detected a fault. P0420 and P0430 relate to catalyst efficiency on Bank 1 and Bank 2, respectively.

Possible causes include catalyst deterioration, exhaust leaks, sensor faults, or changes to the exhaust system. Diagnose the cause first: a warning code alone does not confirm that a spacer is the correct solution.

Built-in Mini Catalytic Converter

Exploded and cutaway views of the built-in miniature catalytic converter

The Mini Catalizador features a durable stainless steel housing with a built-in 400-CEL mini catalytic converter, incorporating precious metals including platinum (Pt), palladium (Pd), and rhodium (Rh), along with an EU6 catalytic coating.

Designed for downstream O2 sensor applications, its integrated catalytic element helps condition exhaust gases reaching the sensor, helping stabilize sensor readings and reduce catalyst-efficiency-related check engine lights when compatible with the vehicle and the underlying issue.

Featuring a standard M18 × 1.5 thread, the Mini Catalizador is compatible with many standard oxygen sensors and is designed to provide a compact, integrated solution for downstream sensor applications.

Internal catalytic core

A compact honeycomb element is integrated into the adapter rather than leaving the extension hollow.

Thread compatibility

M18 × 1.5 thread specification. Check thread size, sensor type, and physical clearance before ordering.

Five angle options

Straight, 45°, 45° Pro, 90°, and 90° Pro configurations accommodate different installation spaces.

03 / WORKING PRINCIPLE

DESIGNED FOR THE REAR O2 SENSOR

Most gasoline vehicles with OBD-II systems use two types of oxygen sensors:

  • Upstream O2 Sensor: Monitors the air/fuel mixture to help the engine run efficiently.
  • Downstream O2 Sensor: Monitors catalytic converter performance and helps detect catalyst efficiency issues.

When the ECU detects catalyst efficiency below its expected threshold, it may trigger a Check Engine Light with codes such as P0420 or P0430.

Mini Catalizador is designed for the downstream O2 sensor, located after the main catalytic converter. Its built-in mini catalytic converter helps condition the exhaust gas sample reaching the sensor.

Important: Install only at the downstream sensor position, never at the upstream sensor.

  1. 01

    Exhaust gas enters

A portion of the exhaust gas enters the spacer’s sampling passage.

  2. 02

    Gas reaches the core

The sample passes through the miniature catalytic element inside the adapter.

  3. 03

    Helps Prevent Check Engine Lights

The built-in mini catalytic converter treats the sampled exhaust gas, helping normalize downstream O2 sensor readings and reduce catalyst-efficiency-related Check Engine Lights.

01

Check before installation

Confirm that the sensor functions correctly, all parts are intact, and the top cover is securely fastened. Let the exhaust cool before handling.

02

Install at the rear sensor

Thread the rear O2 sensor into the spacer, then fit the assembly into the downstream sensor port. Check clearance and avoid straining the sensor wiring.

03

Do not overtighten

If you feel strong resistance while tightening, stop. Follow the applicable installation and torque guidance for your vehicle and components.

05 / THE THREE-STEP GUIDE

YOUR VEHICLE.
YOUR CONFIGURATION.

STEP 01

Check your thread

Confirm an M18 × 1.5 threaded downstream O2 sensor.

Installation position: Downstream / post-cat only. Not upstream / pre-cat.
STEP 02

Select your angle

Select an option to view its fit guidance.
Straight (180°)

For installations with plenty of straight-line clearance around the downstream sensor.

45°

An angled option when moderate clearance or a change in sensor direction is needed.

45° Pro

The 45° configuration with a larger internal catalytic core. Check the additional space required.

90°

A right-angle option for tighter layouts. Confirm clearance for the spacer body, sensor, and wiring.

90° Pro

The 90° configuration with a larger internal catalytic core. Physical fit and results remain vehicle-specific.

Space is limited? Consider the 90° option, then check actual dimensions before ordering.
STEP 03

Count your sensors

For applicable installations, allow 1 spacer per downstream O2 sensor. Count the actual rear sensors rather than relying only on engine size or the fault code.

1REAR O2 SENSOR1 spacer
2REAR O2 SENSORS2 spacers

Many 4-cylinder vehicles have one rear sensor; many V6/V8 vehicles have two. Layouts vary. P0420 identifies Bank 1 and P0430 identifies Bank 2, but the codes alone do not determine quantity.
