There are several reasons why the CEL might still be on after installing the Mini Catalizador:

1. ECU Reset Required: In some cases, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) needs to be reset after installing the Mini Catalizador. The CEL may not turn off immediately because the ECU needs to go through a few drive cycles to recognize the changes in the exhaust system. You can reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes or using an OBD-II scanner to clear the codes.
2. Improper Installation: If the Mini Catalizador is not installed correctly, the oxygen sensor may not be able to read the exhaust gases properly. It is critical to install the Mini Catalizador on the downstream oxygen sensor (the second O2 sensor, located after the catalytic converter) — not on the upstream sensor (the first O2 sensor, located before the catalytic converter). The upstream sensor monitors the air-fuel ratio and installing the Mini Catalizador there will not resolve catalyst efficiency codes like P0420 or P0430. Also, ensure that the Mini Catalizador is securely threaded onto the correct sensor, and that the sensor is properly seated in the exhaust system. Check that the top cover is tightly fastened to prevent it from falling off during driving.
3. Faulty Oxygen Sensor: If the oxygen sensor itself is faulty or overly sensitive, it may still trigger the CEL even after installing the Mini Catalizador. In this case, the sensor may need to be replaced. You can diagnose this by using an OBD-II scanner to check for specific error codes related to the oxygen sensor.
4. Exhaust System Layout or ECU Tuning: Some vehicles have unique exhaust system layouts or ECU tuning that may not fully respond to the Mini Catalizador. While the product is effective in most cases, results can vary depending on the vehicle's specific modifications and tuning.
5. Incorrect Number of Mini Catalizadores Installed: If the number of Mini Catalizadores installed is incorrect, it could also prevent the CEL from turning off. Some vehicles require more than one Mini Catalizador, especially if there are multiple oxygen sensors. Make sure you have installed the correct quantity of Mini Catalizadores based on your vehicle's exhaust system.

If the CEL turned off initially but reappeared after some driving, here are some possible reasons:

1. ECU Relearning Process: After installing the Mini Catalizador, the ECU may take some time to relearn the new exhaust conditions. During this period, the CEL might temporarily turn off but could come back on if the ECU detects any irregularities. Resetting the ECU (as mentioned above) can help the system recalibrate.
2. Intermittent Oxygen Sensor Issues: If the oxygen sensor is intermittently faulty or has a loose connection, it may cause the CEL to reappear. Check the sensor's wiring and connections to ensure everything is secure. If the sensor is old or damaged, it may need to be replaced.
3. Exhaust System Leaks or Other Issues: If there are leaks in the exhaust system or other unrelated issues (e.g., a misfire, vacuum leak, or fuel system problem), the CEL may come back on. To maximize the effectiveness of the Mini Catalizador, follow these steps:

1. Proper Installation: Ensure the Mini Catalizador is installed correctly. Tighten it securely onto the oxygen sensor and ensure the sensor is properly seated in the exhaust system. Double-check that the top cover is tightly fastened.
2. Reset the ECU: After installation, reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery or using an OBD-II scanner to clear any stored error codes. This allows the ECU to relearn the new exhaust conditions.
3. Check for Other Issues: Inspect the exhaust system for leaks or other problems that could affect the oxygen sensor readings. Also, ensure that the oxygen sensor itself is in good working condition.
4. Monitor the CEL: After installation and resetting the ECU, monitor the CEL over a few drive cycles. If the light comes back on, use an OBD-II scanner to check for specific error codes and diagnose any underlying issues.

If the Mini Catalizador doesn’t resolve the CEL issue, consider the following steps:

1. Diagnose the Error Codes: Use an OBD-II scanner to check for specific error codes. If the codes are related to the oxygen sensor or catalytic converter, ensure that the sensor is functioning correctly and that there are no exhaust leaks.
2. Inspect the Oxygen Sensor: If the oxygen sensor is faulty, replace it with a new one. A malfunctioning sensor can prevent the Mini Catalizador from working effectively.
3. Check for Exhaust Leaks: Inspect the entire exhaust system for leaks or damage that could affect the oxygen sensor readings.
4. Consult a Professional: If you’re unable to resolve the issue, consult a professional mechanic or tuner who can diagnose and address any underlying problems with your exhaust system or ECU tuning.

The Mini Catalizador is compatible with most vehicles that have an M18 x 1.5mm oxygen sensor thread, which covers over 99% of vehicles on the market. It is suitable for a wide range of vehicles, including BMW, Audi, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, and many others. However, if your vehicle has a unique exhaust system layout or ECU tuning, results may vary. Always check your vehicle’s specifications before installation.

Some vehicles, especially high-performance or modified vehicles, may be more sensitive to the mini catalytic insert. If you experience rear O2 sensor performance codes after installation, you can try using the spacer without the mini catalytic insert.

For 45° and 90° models, you have two options:

1. Remove the mini catalytic insert from the spacer and reinstall the spacer without the insert.
2. Remove the Mini Catalizador head completely and use the bottom extension tube only.
   

For 180° models:

• Remove the mini catalytic insert from inside the unit and reinstall the spacer without the insert.

Using the spacer without the mini catalytic insert keeps the rear O2 sensor relocated while allowing more normal exhaust flow, which may help correct slow or abnormal O2 sensor readings.

Before testing, please make sure the spacer is installed on the rear/downstream O2 sensor only and there are no exhaust leaks.
